The symbols of AA2 aren't letters, they're numbers, as it is shown in the next table:

AA2 uses a system of "accumulating cypher". First of all, we have to make an equivalence between letters and numbers to encode or decode messages, in the next way:
A=0, B=1, C=2, ..., Z=25.
This is the easiest equivalence that can be made.
Encoding:
We substitute the first letter of the message by its corresponding number. This is the first number of the message.
We add the next letter to this number. If the result is greater than 25, then we have to subtract 26 (all the numbers must be between 0 and 25). This is the next number of the message.
If there are more letters left, then we repeat the previous step.
We substitute each number by its corresponding symbol.
Decoding:
We substitute the first symbol of the message by its corresponding number. This is the first number of the message.
We subtract this number to the next symbol. If the result is less than zero, then we add 26 (all the numbers must be between 0 and 25). This is the next number of the message.
If there are more symbols left, then we repeat the previous step.
We substitute each number by its corresponding letter.
